What It Is: A high school comedy written by Seth Rogan, star of Knocked Up.Why I Watched It: It looked funny and I got to squeeze into a free preview.
What I Thought: Funniest movie I've seen since Knocked Up!
Superbad was a well-written and well-executed comedy about a few loser high school seniors that have decided this one night is their last chance to have sex before college. It was really funny, it wasn't cheesy, and the plot was deliciously over-the-top while staying reasonably believable.
Superbad was Rated R and DEFINITELY not for kids. Superbad was the off-color comedy that all the American Pie movies should have been. I laughed pretty hard throughout the film and was constantly surprised that Superbad actually had the balls to go so far. I had several good "What the fuck?!" moments while watching the film, with a good portion of them actually being spoken out loud!
The actors were really, really good. Seth Rogan's cameo as the mustached cop was AWESOME!
Highlights: Seth Rogan's cop, penis drawings, McLovin, after-dance blood stains, tons of F-words, and crazy terminology like "a 1/4 of a blow job".
Who Should See It: Everyone should have already seen Knocked Up, those of you that liked it should definitely see Superbad!
How Soon: Superbad doesn't come out until August 17th, that gives you plenty of time to set your $9 aside.
